Monthly Favorites: Februrary

Hello everyone, okay so February has been a pretty crazy month for me what with exams at school and all that, but I am here with my favorite products of this month, there will be some makeup, some skin care and body care (don't know how else to classify them), some hair products, a couple of books and some other random things at the end if you are interested in those.

First off let's talk makeup; I want to give my award for my favorite makeup product of this month to the No7 Essentially Natural Foundation (I'm in the shade Calico), this foundation is probably the best that I have found so far, it glides on so easily with a brush, sponge or fingers, it stays on all day, even if I have PE and it covers well without looking fake, it pretty much gives that my-skin-but-better look which I really really love about it.
Then I have a couple of mascaras, one is the Clinique High Impact Curling mascara, I only have a mini one because it is quite an expensive mascara but it's really damn good, it makes my eyelashes look so long and lovely. But my favorite mascara this month which I have done a review of and mentioned in my favorite drugstore mascaras post is the NYC Big Bold mascara, it just volumizes and lengthens and makes my eyelashes look incredible, I love it to bits, I just wish it was a bit more waterproof because you step out in the rain and it WILL be on your cheeks within a few minutes.
I have been loving a couple of eyeshadow palettes, well one is a trio but oh well, the trio is the Clinique color surge eyeshadow trio and I was really loving it at the beginning of the month, it had a really pretty champagne color for a bass, then a slightly shimmery, slightly coppery brown to put in the crease, and then a darker matte brown as a definer and whenever I use it I get loads of compliments on how nice it looks. Then I have my MUA Smokey Eye palette which I have talked about in a previous post, but I just think that it is so versatile, I can create some natural looks with it but I can also create some really dark, dramatic looks, my only problem with it is that it does tend to crease quite a bit but that's only after a full day at school.
Lastly I have my Blistex lipbalm which I am obsessed with! It tastes and smells like Refreshers and it moisturizes my lips beautifully, it is just a fantastic product, I can't really say much more about it to be honest other than if you are looking for an amazing lipbalm, this is worth a try.

Next I have my skincare favorites/body care favorites of this month, I just want to start with saying how in love with Beyonce's new perfume, Rise, I am, it smells so musky and spicy and apparently it smells super good on me so I have been wearing my samples of it pretty much every day since I got them and I desperately want to get a full sized bottle.
Then I have my other body care(?) favorite which is my Mitchum Advanced Control deodorant; for a long time I was using the Lynx attract for girls and I just didn't think that it was all that amazing, it smelt good but it didn't really do much other than smell good, but then my mum brought this for me and I love it, it smells pretty good but it's just an amazing deodorant.
My first favorite skincare product is actually a re-discovery, it is the Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion, I just put this on a cotton pad and rub it over my T-zone which is where I get really oily and it has made pretty much all of my spots disappear, so consequentially I don't need to wear as much foundation so my skin is just staying good from that. It can be a little harsh so if you have sensitive skin then I wouldn't recommend this but for people who struggle with oily skin this is amazing.
And lastly I have my Simple Kind to Skin Moisturizer which I started using after I had an allergic reaction to something and had to use all sorts of crazy moisturizers to get rid of the dry skin that the reaction caused, I had to use BioOil for quite a while which made the dryness go away but then to maintain the moisture I started using this, and I love it, it's so gentle with no harsh chemicals, perfect for sensitive skin, I just love it.

I just have three hair products to talk to you about and they are all from the brand Aussie, I love the brand so much and I have been using these products for a while now, but I just love how they work together on my hair so I had to mention them.
First I have the Dual Personality Curl Defining + Shine Mousse, and as someone who has naturally quite curly hair that tends to go a little wild, I am so thankful for this product, I can't be bothered to straighten my hair when it is just going to go curly in the rain as soon as I go outside, so I just put a bit of this on my hands and scrunch it into my hair to tame my curls and make them more defined, it really does do exactly what it says on the packet and it smells amazing.
Then I have the Dual Personality Aussome Volume + Conditioning Mousse which I tend to use after the other product and I just rub it into my roots to give them some extra volume and give my hair a bit more body so that I don't look like a mushroom head with flat hair at the top and then puffy hair at the sides.
And then lastly I have the Miracle Insurance Leave-in Conditioner, I put this in before the other products and just brush it into my hair and it really stops my hair from getting tangled as much, it leaves my hair feeling soft and silky and it smells incredible.

My two favorite books of the month were Divergent by Veronica Roth and Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter; firstly, let's just take a moment to appreciate Divergent, it was such a brilliant storyline, I never wanted to put it down, I loved the build up to all of the fighting right at the end of the book, it kept me wanting to know more and was constantly spoonfeeding me little pieces of information that gradually built up a bigger picture and was always leaving me shocked and surprised, I loved it so much.
Then Born at Midnight only took me 4 days to read even with school going on because I found myself constantly picking it up whenever I was bored and just reading for ages, there were some holes in the plot, like how the hell a shapeshifter turned into a unicorn when according to mythology a shifter can only transform into a mythological creature when they are born with some blood of that creature, so I don't even want to think about how that shifter could be born with the blood of a unicorn but I digress. Overall I loved the plot, I loved how the girl hated being caught in the middle of so many guys and just wanted to focus on anything but them unlike so many other female characters in her position which all infuriate me.
But I would recommend those two books highly to anyone who is looking for a good book.

And finally I have my random favorites of the month; now anyone who knows me will know that I am addicted to coffee, and I have recently started loving the Nescafe Caramel latte and the Nescafe Gingerbread latte (which is a holiday limited edition one sadly), these aren't very good for you so I usually just have instant coffee and treat myself with these especially since they are kind of expensive but I love them so so much.
My favorite candle this month has got to be the Jelly Belly candle in Toasted Marshmallow, it's got a wonderful smell that isn't exactly toasted marshmallows but is still quite sweet but not over powering and I just love the scent so much.
My favorite app this month has got to be the Pinterest app, I don't know why I didn't discover it sooner, but I guess I was so caught up with Instagram and We Heart it that I just didn't pay it any attention, but I downloaded it and I have been obsessed with it, and it is only fueling my addiction to organisation which I am pretty sure is becoming kind of unhealthy.
Lastly my favorite song of the month has got to be Heaven Knows by The Pretty Reckless, I only discovered it this week but I have pretty much just had it on repeat, Taylor Momsen is so incredible in the video and I don't know why but the song really speaks to me...okay that sounds weird...

...On that note I am going to finish this up, thanks for reading, please comment below your favorite product/thing from February and I will see you in March!!! Finally spring is coming, it has been such a long winter!
Have an amazing day,
Bye!!

Best and Worst: Drugstore Mascaras

Confession time, I am addicted to mascaras. I hate to admit it, but it's true. So naturally as a mascara addict, I have tried many, many mascaras, and I have opinions on all of them. So I am going to share with you my best and worst drugstore Mascaras!!

Starting with the worst to get the negativity out of the way, I will start with the worst of the worst and move upwards:
My least favorite mascara ever is surprisingly a Maybelline one, now I usually LOVE Maybelline mascaras, I have loads of them and the majority of my favorite mascaras are Maybelline ones, but this one I hated. And it is the Mega Plush Volum' Express mascara. I was so surprised that I didn't like this because like I said, I love the Maybelline mascaras but when I tried this I just could not get along with the flexible brush, I just thought that made the mascara really awkward and difficult to use, and I thought that the formula was really thick and nasty and it made my eyelashes clump, not a nice look. So yeah, that is my least favorite mascara.
Next in line is the MUA Lash Boom Volume and Length mascara. I saw this for a couple of pounds and thought that I might as well try it, but I wish I hadn't bothered, the bristles are really short, the formula doesn't really give any volume and it just doesn't really do anything, but at least it doesn't clump.
Then we have the Natural Collection WaterGuard mascara; I got this when I was first starting to use makeup and I wanted a mascara but I didn't want to get told off for having any on so I gave this a go because it's brown and I thought that would be more natural. Make no mistake, it is very natural and great if you want to wear some mascara but not get into any trouble for it, but I just found that it didn't give me any length or volume, although it does stay on for hours and hours which I guess is down to the fact that it is waterproof.
And my very last worst product (if that made any sense) is the Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Curved Brush; one good thing about this is that it does give your lashes a bit of extra curl, but other than that and giving it a bit of length, I didn't really see it doing very much, it just kind of sat there being useless. But I prefer the formula and the results of this one to the other ones that I have mentioned.

Now I have my best mascaras, I am going to just work my way up to my favorite so here we go.
First I have my Maybellne Illegal Length mascara, if you have short eyelashes then this thing is brilliant, I found that it clumped slightly but it did make my eyelashes super long and lovely, but it doesn't give much volume so I used it with another mascara that I will mention in a minute.
Then there is the Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara, this one I used for a really long time because it gave me lots of length without clumping and I couldn't find any mascaras that gave me volume as well so I just used this again and again because I really did love how long it made my eyelashes look.
Then I have a real tie between two of my favorite Maybelline mascaras, I honestly can't chose between them but I am going to start with the Colossal Volum' Express mascara. Oh my gosh I loved this mascara for the longest time, it really was the first mascara that gave me loads of volume as well as length, it was very black and just made my lashes look so luscious and beautiful and the majority of the time I just wore this, eyeliner and concealer and I was perfectly comfortable to go to school and it didn't look overly heavy.
Then I have my other Maybelline mascara which is the Falsies Volum' Express Flared mascara, I also have the Falsies Black Drama which is nice and dramatic, but I prefer the Falsies Flared because it curls my eyelashes nicely, it allows me to get all of the lashes because of the curved brush and it doesn't clump at all, I did wear this with the Illegal Length mascara but for quite a long time I just wore this one on it's own and it looked luscious, so yes, if you want to get a Maybelline Mascara, it's amazing.
And finally we have my favorite drugstore mascara of all time which I have already done a review on, you should go check that out, it is the NYC Big Bold mascara. Now, let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that this is every bit as good as the Maybelline mascaras, for less than half the price! It gives my lashes as much volume as my Clinique mascara and it lengthens beautifully, the only downside to this is that is seriously isn't waterproof, I had to go and walk the dog in the rain one time and when I got back my mascara was on my cheekbones, and I only had a few minutes to sort myself out and get out of the door again, so yeah, if it is raining or you are going to be swimming or anything, don't wear this. But other than that it is one of my favorite mascaras of all time, I love it to bits and just a single coat looks the same as about two or three coats of my Maybelline mascaras! Go buy this mascara, you will not regret it.

So that is it for my Best and Worst Drugstore Mascaras post, I am thinking about doing a Best and Worst Drugstore Foundations one but I'm not too sure about that, it's just an idea.

Incredible drugstore eyeshadows!!!

Okay, I have been trying to decide what on earth to do a blog post about because I want to do a tutorial but I'm not really sure how to go about doing it because one of my cameras won't turn on and my other more fancy one is kind of hard to use for taking photos of myself with so I may have to try and rope a friend in or something but I will work it out so I am planning on doing some makeup tutorials at some point in the not too distant future.
But anyways, onto the topic of this post. I want to tell you guess about the MUA eyeshadows that I have discovered and I have fallen in love with. Originally I was looking for just a black eyeshadow to replace the one that I did have which wasn't very pigmented and when I went into Superdrug I saw the MUA section, and for those who don't know, MUA are a really cheap brand of makeup that you can certainly get in the UK, I'm not sure about the US though. I'm not too keen on their mascara, at least not the one that I tried, and their eyeliners aren't too bad for one pound but they smudge a little. Their eyeshadows however, are freaking amazing.
I now have the Undress Me Too palette which was the first one that I got and has a couple of neutral matte colors, a really good black, some shimmery colors, a lovely gold, and it's just an amazing palette that is really versatile. I also have the Matte palette which as you can tell from the name is all matte shades, it has some neutrals and I fell in love with this beautiful teal color that looks amazing combine with the black for a smokey eye and then smudged on the lower lash line for some extra definition. And most recently I got the smokey eye palette that I talked about in my haul post and I love it so much, it has a couple of neutral shades but is also has some really dark shades, in fact, the whole palette is generally darker than the other two, and it also has some shimmery colors that add more of a pop of color and all work really well together.
But these eyeshadows, considering that the most expensive palette which also contains an eyeliner pencil was £6, are really amazing, they are super pigmented, come in a vast range of colors, they stay on really beautifully and they are really good for creating a range of different looks.
One thing I will say is that they look a lot better with a primer, just like most shadows, if you don't have a primer on then they do crease quite a bit but it's only really noticeable if you shut your eyes.

Long story short, if you want some really cheap palettes that you can pick up easily and are really good or if you are just starting out with makeup and don't want to get anything super expensive, these are some of the best ones that I have tried, most of them are about £4 so they are a total bargain and they are just so amazing.

I hope that you guys are all well and let me know what kind of post you would like me to put up next.
Love you all
Bye!!

Review: NYC Kohl Kajal Pencil Liner

Another little review for a product that I brought earlier today, and this is the Kohl pencil liner in black from NYC and it was only around £2 which is amazing for such a good liner.

First off, it is seriously pigmented, I tried it on the back of my hand and one gentle stroke left a really strong line, and it also smudges really well for a smokey eye.
I have had this on all day now and I have also been out in the rain to walk my dog and it has stayed put completely, it hasn't budged at all which I think it pretty darn amazing considering how much it was raining.
It glides on easily and doesn't tug at your eyelid like some of them do and it's just really easy to use, it looks nice on it's own and with eyeshadow, you can build up the intensity but it's also really easy to create a nice thin line to make your eyelashes look thicker.
I have yet to try the brown one but that is a really nice color and I'm sure that it is exactly the same, I'm pretty sure that they also do loads of other shades.

Bottom line, yes I would recommend this to all of my minions and I highly recommend that you get it as well if you want a cheap but super good eyeliner.

I hope this has helped you in some way, please leave a comment below if you have any products that you can recommend to me, if there are any posts that you would like for me to do or if you found this helpful.
Have a wonderful day,
Bye!!

Review: NYC Big Bold Mascara

Okay, I only brought this today along with a load of other drugstore products (you can go check out my previous post if you are interested in those) but I decided to give it a go and I got a lot more than I expected.

First off, lets just take a moment to gape at the size of the freaking brush, that thing is massive, then again I have been using Clinique's mascara which has a tiny want so I would think it's massive....I'm sure there's an innuendo in there somewhere....anyways!

I put on one coat of it and compared that eye to the eye that had no mascara on it and I was amazed, it curled my lashes loads, it made them so much longer, and it actually made it look like I have more eyelashes than I actually have which is incredible. I really hate it when you have to build up layers and layers of mascara to get it to look like you have any on at all, but I only needed two coat of this stuff, so I was saved, plus it dried really quickly which was a bonus.

Long story short, this mascara lengthens, adds volume, and is just £2 at Superdrug. What's not to like?! Bottom line, I WILL be recommending this to all of the people in my little land of friendship and I highly recommend it to all of you guys because it is amazing.

Thanks so much for reading my blog, I may be posting again today but I may not, it depends on how much I procrastinate haha.
Anyways, I hope you have a good day,
Bye!!

Drugstore Haul!!!!

Okay so I went to the drugstore today, and I have come to the conclusion that I have no control because I spent over £20 in about 10 minutes >.< I need help.
But anyways, I am just going to share with you what I got today, and out of all of the makeup only one thing was over £2! That is pretty darn amazing.
So let's get into it.

First of all I have a skincare product that I have been wanting to try for a really long time and that is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash. And let me just say that it smells absolutely AMAZING!!!It is supposed to help eliminate spots and blackheads with a fresh clean feel. I will probably try it out for a few weeks and then do a review of it so let me know if you would be interested in seeing that.

Now onto the makeup, most of what I got was from NYC because I love their makeup but I also have a couple of things from MUA and I am going to start with those.
I got the Pressed powder by MUA in shade 2, I haven't really heard anyone talk about this but my powder from Maybelline dried my skin out loads so I figured that as this is only £1 I would just give it a go and see what it's like.
And the other thing I got from MUA was the one makeup product that came over £2 and it was the Smokin Palette, I just thought it looked amazing, it has some really nice neutrals, some of them are matte and some of them are shimmery, then it has some shimmery, brighter colors, it has a purple, a blue and a green which I thought would be great to give a pop of color to a smokey look. And I didn't realize until I got home that it also has a black pencil liner in there which I am excited to try out.

Now moving on to my NYC products, I got one of their quick dry nail polishes because I love them so much, and I got it in Park Avenue which is a really nice kind of taupe color and I don't have any darker neutral colors so when I saw that I had to get it.
Then I have one of their Applelicious lip balms in Apple Blossom which is a really subtle pink, I thought that it would be really nice for the spring time. I heard about these from Megan Rosette's YouTube channel, she is so funny and beautiful, I love her so much, and here is the link to her blog http://www.meghanrosette.com/ and her YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/meghanrosette you should go check her out.
Next I have one of NYC's Individual Eyes palettes in Midtown Mauve and this is actually designed for people with brown eyes but I really liked the colors so I figured whatever, I'll make it work for my strange blue/green/I don't even know what color they are half the time eyes. It just has four really nice colors, a white, a sort of taupe color, a pink, and a really nice purplish color which I adore, it also has a primer and an illuminator which should be interesting to try.
I also got their Big Bold Mascara in Extra black, and I love how massive the brush is, and this brush is supposed to help to give you more volume. I will probably do a review on this because I am always looking for new mascaras and I want to move away from the Maybelline ones which were my addiction for so long.
Lastly from NYC I got two of their Kohl liners, in 001 (black) and 002 (chocolate brown), both of these are really pigmented and they smudge easily which will be brilliant for my smokey eyes so I'm hoping that they are as good as the reviews said they were.

Then finally I have the Blistex lip balm in Raspberry Lemonade blast, and OMG this stuff tastes and smells like a Refresher, and if you have never had a Refresher they are amazing, go bye one (just in case you don't know, they are sweets :D). But anyways this stuff is absolutely amazing, it smells and tastes soooooo good, it is really hydrating and I just love it.

That is the end of my haul, let me know if you have any products that you can recommend and I will try them out, also if you would like to see a review or a tutorial based on one of these products then leave me a comment.
I hope you guys have an amazing day,
Bye!!
